Shut up and breathe

Me: "F@#k it's hot in here!"
Me back to me: "Well done Captain Obvious, you are in Bikram after a four week absence.  Now shut up and breathe"

Shut up and breathe I did.  Looking at myself in the mirror in wonder at my flexibility being in tact but not my strength.  I had to constantly remind myself not to sink into my joints.  That has never been a problem before.  Strange how the one thing I didn't start with (flexibility) stays with me now after my breaks.

After class I lay there and a bikram-ism popped into my mind "operation successful, all patients dead" and a huge smile played across my face.

  1. Hmm... Sounds like we had similar experiences in the hot room in just the last few days! :)

  2. Just saw your comment at Mental Poo's blog, and I had to come over and meet you upon seeing you're a bikram enthusiast. I've been practicing this for a year now. I always have to snicker when the instructor says, "Let your breath sink into the mat." ....ummmm...not gonna happen! I love how your mind works!

  6. I've never heard that bikram-ism. I can totally hear the man saying it, hah! (It would have described my class last night.) I hope you are doing well!

  7. That's what I tell myself every time I take a bikram yoga class! My firs time I nearly passed out and downed practically ten water bottles, but it was so worth it! There is nothing better than the feeling you get after taking a class!
