Well today was 530 up at Drays studio with young Mark. I felt very tired today and tried to talk myself out of yoga on the way home. Ya, that's bad when you are only on day 9! So I suited up, showed up and slogged my way through. Not a rockstar practice by any means, but I chalk it up to a win because I made it!
Sounds like the opposite of my day. But I've got Roberta tomorrow, so we'll see how I feel after that :). The days when you "slog" through are the most impressive, as far as I'm concerned. When i have days like this, I just remind myself why I do this yoga. Everyone has their own reasons, and that's always more important than some temporary doldrums.
ReplyDeleteHi! I stumbled across your blog looking for bikram advice (had my first class and was horrible but bikram is so amazing).
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that if you can do 60 and 100 day challenges that is extraordinary! You are my new Bikram idol! haha
Ah yes...We have all been there. Some days are like that(like Monday was for me. We don't want to change into yoga clothes, don't want to be social with our awesome studio friends, don't want to sweat. We just want to go home. But we don't. We push on. And after we feel so much the better for having practiced. Hoping today is a better yoga day for you!
ReplyDeleteGreg~ Roberta is always a nice hard class. I personally love her! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSC~ welcome! I was horrible at first too, couldn't even get my foot in my hand for standing head to knee and was exhasuted by standing bow. You will get better and better and it will change your life! So glad you found it. And thank you!
Tracik~ you put it perfectly. That is exactly how I felt. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that has those thoughts/days.
That's why I love blogging! It really lets us talk about what we experience with our practice. And to realize the feelings we have are shared! Smiles to ya :)
ReplyDeleteThe first sticking point seems to come about 1/3 of the way through. If you were doing 60 days this time, you would have hit this point at about day 20. For a thirty day challenge, day 9 seems just about right. And don't ask me why it works this way, but that's what I read over and over, and its what happened to me.
ReplyDeleteTracik~ free therapy!
ReplyDeleteDuffy~ you know, I would probably have realized that had I dug back into previous blog entries. I suppose even having done a few challenges, I am certainly not immune to the ups and downs of it! You are right...the 1/3rd mark is the little bump in the road! Thanks for putting into perspective.
Everyone has one of those days when you don't feel like going to class. The good news is that you made it!!!
ReplyDeletecirita~yes, that is good news!
