Day 40: Still here....

I'm still here. I'm THREE classes behind. I missed Sunday and Monday for reasons I can't blog about.

That means I have THREE doubles ahead of me. You all know how much I love doubles (if I could type this in sarcastic letters, I would).

Tonight was 5pm up at Summerlin with Adele. I parked myself in the backrow and ended up being trapped in no mirror land. Even though I was there first, the guy in the front row put his mat directly in front of me. By the time I got in the room, I couldn't move left (wall) or right (person) and he had tons of room to move either direction but didn't. He didn't do it on purpose of course, just not aware of yoga room etiquette yet. Too new. Oh well, it made for an interesting practice and a very balance challenged standing series. I had to feel instead of see, and maybe that's a good thing.
I was glad to be back in that room. Not glad to be three behind, but I'll get it done.

  1. Hey there. I'm sure you'll get it done. Three doubles in next 2 months is totally doable! I have to do one, plan is for tomorrow back to back...am hydrating right now, lol!
Sometimes not being able to see is a blessing because you can tune into the small nuances of balance and stretch. I didn't like to not see until TT, when that became the norm...I'm short and wear glasses, so in a full room back about two rows, I see nothing in the mirror! (I don't wear the glasses to practice either). Right now in the challenge I am liking being back a few rows - I want to see, but it feels more encompasing back further - just going with it!

  2. lynx~ I'm not myself. I have so much doubt, anger and fear this time around. This challenge is the biggest challenge yet. So for that, I embrace it. And I'll move around the room, because i was really mad in the back today, so perhaps that is good! :)

  3. The crazyness is there so you can let it go!

You will make the extra classes, I have 2 classes to make up and I will do a double tonight, with the two toughest teachers in the studio. *drinking another glass of water*

I have days I just feel like screaming out loud for no reason. On the bus, at work, in the studio like everywhere and just randomly anytime.

  4. Can you split up your doubles? Like do a morning class and an afternoon class? I wonder if that would help, rather than these back-to-back classes...??

Chin up, lady. You're doing great!

  5. yeah - morning then night - make a date for your first one now... get rest the night before, make it a YOU day! Then you'll have one done.

Don't stress yourself out over caring for yourself with yoga. It's not worth it.

  6. Thanks you guys, and yes, I think I will split those doubles up. Much easier that way! I will try to knock one out this weekend. **drinks a gallon of water like ahappyyogi**

  8. I've got doubles ahead of me as well since I'm 4 days behind. We've got plenty of time to do them :) I've become one of those people who will ask/tell people to move their mats. I mean, I try to do it in a nice way, but it has to be done sometimes!

  9. Hey, can you get someone to do at least one of those doubles with you? It might make it more bearable. By the way, I love your site and your journey and am really rooting for you!!

  10. Greg~ Yes, I was tempted to throw in the towel, shut down the blog and curl up into the corner of my room in shame. Good thing I didn't!
A~ I should've told that guy to move a little. He ended up laying down for 30 mins though on the floor series.
Anonymous~ I might be able to convince some poor soul to do one with me! :) Thanks for rooting for me! I really need it right now.

  11. There was a class once where I couldn't see and it completely freaked me out! I'm so proud that you stayed and worked it through, and glad you came back to us after missing a couple of days. Hang in there!

  12. Lady, I have 2 doubles to do by Sunday to make my studio's Valentine's Day Challenge. I fell asleep on Saturday and when I woke up it was too late to go to class. You CAN do this! And all the suffering means something good is happening, or so they say!
